Activity Session #1 – Weather Wonders

Weather affects us all and especially our outdoor activities! Before we plan our weekends, we usually check the weather forecast. In order to forecast the weather, we gather all sorts of information about the atmosphere.

In this activity you’ll find out about these sources of information, signs we can look for in nature, and have a chance to make a rainbow, rain gauge, and thermometer.

Activity Session #2 – Nature Photography

There are so many incredible things happening all around us in nature that it can be hard to remember to take the time to capture them!

In this activity, you’ll discover how to add WOW to your pictures and head outdoors to try out these techniques through three fun activities!

“Minty Time” – Cloud Watching

On a warm summer’s day, find a patch of grass, lie back and watch the clouds go by.

In this activity, you’ll find out about different types of clouds and how they can give you clues about incoming weather, and use your imagination as you watch the clouds go by.

Activity Session #3 – Nature Journaling

Nature journaling is about looking at the natural world around you and recording your thoughts and observations.

In this activity, you’ll get some tips for starting nature journaling, make your own journal, get inspired, and try out some different journaling activities.

Activity Session #4 – Outdoor Cooking

Outdoor cooking is one of the best part of camping! You can cook most things you do at home in the outdoors – or try out some camp favourites.

In this activity, you’ll get some tips on outdoor cooking, learn how to build your own box oven, and try out some yummy recipes for foil, stick and box oven cooking!

Evening Program – Scavenger Hunt

“Take only memories, leave nothing but footprints.”

Head outdoors and use your photography or sketching skills as you and your family enjoy a nature scavenger hunt – who will get the best picture of the hunt?!
